Isn't this the place that used to be in....... ?

A trip down memory lane...

When I first conceived the idea for the gallery, I envisioned it in a historical context -- a quaint location away from the hustle and bustle of a traditional mall, or the bland experience of a strip mall.

Earth and Fire Pottery opened its doors on March 1, 2001 at 775 Station Street, in Herndon, VA.

It was across the street from the W & OD trail, down the street from the Great Harvest Bread Company, and around the corner from the Dairy Queen.

It was a cute little place and it felt very homey.

For two years, the inventory was nothing but pots:

In March of 2003, the gallery moved to Vienna, and into a new building that had been built to look like an old building:

The Vienna location was a block away from the W & OD bike path, down the street from the Great Harvest Bread Company, and next door to Nielson's Frozen Custard.

In the three years that the gallery was in Vienna, the inventory broadened to include glass, metal, clocks, jewelry, mobiles, totebags, wooden boxes, photographs.

... and then it was ON TO LEESBURG -- to 18 South King Street, in May of 2006.

The Leesburg location is on two levels, and is a return to the look and feel of the Herndon location,

... in the heart of a vibrant Leesburg historic downtown area -- the very center of the First Friday Gallery Walks...

... and a charming place to spend an afternoon wandering in and out of unique little shops. (Parking is plentiful in either of two public parking garages within a block.)

There isn't an ice cream place, and Great Harvest Bread Company doesn't have a location in Leesburg (yet!), but the W & OD trail is about two blocks south.
