What? Still no teapots?

OK, we're going to have a new rule with the newsletters. No more "coming attractions." One of these days, I'll get around to teapots, but ... not today.

This week, I've been working on the photography for the website, and I think I'm making progress. On Rex's suggestion, I bought myself a photographic backdrop, and I've been busily photographing pots and updating artist pages on the website.

I've got a neutral background now, which is an improvement, but it's almost too neutral. Now, sometimes, I've got pots floating in space:

The photograhic backdrop has a light section at the bottom, and then the color deepens going on up:

I've got to figure out how to get more of the colored section into the background, and I will probably need to get some lights. This will be an incremental process.

I did take one image I think is darned fine, if I do say so myself:

(I'm so proud...) Interestingly enough, it was one of the first ones I took with the new setup.

Too bad I can't hang a sign out on the website like you see when they are remodeling a store. It would say something like.. "Pardon our Progresss. We're making improvements to serve you better."

I'll keep at it.
