Nevermind what I said before

Ever since I "changed my hours" at the gallery in January, if I needed to be a little late because of a doctor's appointment, or leave a little early for something, I didn't worry about it. In April, when my daughter went back to her part-time job and needed someone to watch The World's Cutest Grandbaby for a couple of hours every Tuesday morning, my hand was in the air.

However, the bottom line is that I have pretty much been in the gallery on a very predictable schedule.

And here it is:

Tues -- 1 pm - 5 pm
Wed - Sat -- 11 am - 5 pm
Sun -- 1 pm - 4 pm (summertime and December)

I've decided I might as well post those as official hours for the gallery.

A new look for the Main Artists page

If you haven't visited the Main Artists page in a while, you'll notice something new there -- thumbnail images of representative pieces by each of the artists. It occurred to me that a visual cue as to what that artist's work looked like might be helpful to you.

I think the page looks pretty good, but I want to work on making the thumbnails a uniform height, so that the names will line up in each column, so it will be even more streamlined.

No wobbly wheels here, please

The other big change at the gallery is that (thanks to my daughter-in-law's googling efforts), I have discovered a shopping cart utility that does EXACTLY what I envisioned for the website.

You may remember back in March when I was investigating shopping carts, I got glassy-eyed trying to figure out how to incorporate one on the website and I just threw up my hands and said, "Just keep those cards and letters (emails and phone calls) coming in, folks."

I've spent the last couple of days updating each and every artist's page with links for each and every item to a shopping cart and a secure form for credit card information. I couldn't be more pleased with how it has all integrated together.

The thing that I like the best is that the shopping cart doesn't process your credit card information. It just holds the information at a secure site until I log on to retrieve it. What that means is if you order something that was sold in the gallery 15 minutes before you put it in your shopping cart online, I'll be able to send you an email and let you know about that, without having to go through the trouble of issuing a refund.

Of course, if you want to call and chat as you place your order, you can still do that.

The Tough get Tougher

The Tough Love Sale is still in progress and the current discount (until next Tuesday) is a whopping 30%. (Yes the price that passes to the shopping cart has the discount figured in).

Tonight is First Friday in Leesburg, and the weather is going to be lovely, so I hope you'll come on out for a fun evening. Most of the new inventory that I ordered back in February has arrived and the gallery is full of all kinds of new things that I haven't been able to add to the website yet.

Have a good week.
