News from Earth and Fire -- November 29, 2006 The line forms to the rightI needed to get something last week at a discount store which shall remain nameless and I was amused to see a sign out front announcing that the line for one of the new game systems (which shall also remain nameless) started at that point -- outside -- to the right of the front door. There was no one in line. How embarrassing. (Of course.. who knows how many people were in line at midnight the night before!) By the time I had finished inside and come back out, the sign was gone. I clicked my tongue and thought to myself, "Wonder what it would take to get pot-lovers to line up outside like that." Now, somewhere "out there" there is a really great transition paragraph that begins with the idea of pot-lovers standing in line for great pots (utilizing a reference to my newsletter a year ago detailing just such an experience in Demarest, NJ), then moving seamlessly on, possibly touching on the results of first silent auction for pots from Byron Temple's estate, and finally, winding up elegantly by pointing out the really wonderful pots from Jeff Oestreich that have just arrived at Earth and Fire in time for his solo show here this Friday for the Gallery Walk.. I know it's "out there".. but I've been unable to find it over the last 24 hours that I've been looking for it, and simply put, the clock is ticking. I've just got to get this newsletter uploaded and out the door. So, help me out, and just pretend that I found it, and then we can move on to the "hard news." The featured artist for the December First Friday Gallery Walk at Earth and Fire is Minnesota potter Jeff Oestreich. I'm so happy that Jeff is going to be here! I've got my fingers crossed that his plane gets in on time and everything goes smoothly picking him up at the airport Friday afternoon. The pots are already here, and I'm really pleased with the selection that he sent. Something for all the pot-lovers on your list. I know there are a lot of demands on your time this time of year, and once again the weather man has used the "R" word in the forecasts for Friday, but I hope there will be a great turnout Friday for Jeff. That's THIS Friday night, December 1 from 6:00 - 9:00. Sequoia Miller I just got a shipment of pots from Sequoia. Byron Temple The next silent auction for pots made by the late Byron Temple has ended. This will be the last silent auction before Christmas of Byron's pots. Thank you for your support To thank you for being so supportive of the gallery over the years, there will be FREE SHIPPING from now until the end of December. Have a good week.
